Arc’s Blue Trucks Arriving in Andover
Support People with Disabilities by Donating to Arc’s Used Goods Pickup Service
MINNEAPOLIS – Andover residents have been asking when Arc’s Used Goods Pickup
Service would return to their community. Their wish is coming true!
On Monday, July 14, Arc’s familiar blue trucks will drive through Andover
neighborhoods picking up donations that will help fund Arc Greater Twin Cities’
programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental
disabilities and their families.
Donating used clothing and household goods to Arc’s Used Goods Pickup Service
is easier than ever now that donors have the option to schedule pickups online.
Visit www.bluetrucks.org to quickly and easily schedule a convenient curbside
pickup of gently used clothing and household items. Just log in and create a
password to create your confidential donor account.
When you request a pickup, you will receive general instructions and a sample
list of items Arc will and will not accept, and a list of frequently asked
questions. Once the pickup is scheduled, you will receive an e-mail reminder
and an e-mail thank-you after the pickup is complete. A big advantage for
donors is that www.bluetrucks.org provides a confidential record of donations
and printable receipts, convenient for tax purposes.
If you miss the truck on July 14, you can find out the next time an Arc truck
will drive through Andover by visiting www.bluetrucks.org and entering your zip
code. The date will pop up so that you can schedule a curbside stop the next
time the truck will be in your neighborhood. An on-screen message will indicate
if there is no upcoming pickup date or if an address is outside the pickup
area.
Those who do not find online scheduling appealing, needn’t worry. Donors still
will have the option to call (612) 866-8820 to schedule a pickup.
Arc's familiar blue trucks make nearly 250,000 stops per year to collect
donations from households throughout the Twin Cities. Arc especially needs
clean clothing for children and adults right now. Arc also accepts accessories,
housewares & small appliances, linens & crafts, toys, books, magazines, music &
movies, home décor & accessories, art and collectibles! Please label boxes and
bags for “Arc.”
Donations collected by Arc's Used Goods Pickup Service are sold to a for-profit
donation purchaser. Proceeds from this revenue support Arc Greater Twin Cities
programs and services.
