Nine Local Residents Honored for Outstanding
Volunteer Service at Arc’s Value Village in 2007

MINNEAPOLIS – Arc Greater Twin Cities and Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores & Donation Centers salute nine exceptional volunteers who have qualified for the 300 Club at Arc’s Value Village by contributing 300 or more hours of service in 2007.

The four members of the 300 Club at the Brooklyn Center store are:

• Karen Engle, Minneapolis
• Gloria Finneman, Brooklyn Center
• Lori Gross, Minneapolis
• Ken Lukes, Brooklyn Center

The five members of the 300 Club at the New Hope store are:

• Donald Fern, Golden Valley
• Gladys Jepson, Minnetonka
• Adeline McCurdy, Crystal
• Audrey Stein, Plymouth
• Jerry Wobschall, Golden Valley

In addition, there are 13 more volunteers who qualified for the 300 Club by volunteering at Arc’s Value Village store in Richfield. Club members gave 8,880 hours of volunteer service at Arc’s Value Village stores in 2007. As a group, the 300 Club members have a combined 147 years of volunteer service at Arc’s Value Village and it is likely that they have contributed more than 60,000 hours over that time!

Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores & Donation Centers are successful because of volunteers, which comprise nearly 75 percent of the stores’ workforce. Their donations of time and talent mean that more of the proceeds from Arc’s Value Village support Arc Greater Twin Cities’ programs and services. In 2007, Arc’s Value Village generated $1.5 million for Arc.

Members of the 300 Club choose to spend a lot of time volunteering at Arc’s Value Village because they enjoy doing good work for a good cause. All volunteers – whether they can give two hours a month or eight hours a week are appreciated and invited to join the team at Arc’s Value Village.
