Donate a Dollar & Celebrate the Season
At Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores!
MINNEAPOLIS – Shoppers and donors at Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores and
Donation Centers are invited to give an extra dollar each time they shop now
through Dec. 31, 2006 to help children and adults with intellectual and
developmental disabilities and their families.
All donations go to Arc Greater Twin Cities, a non-profit agency working to
help people with disabilities live, learn, work and play as they choose. This
is the second year that Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores & Donation Centers
have conducted this special holiday fundraising effort.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 24, and ending Sunday, Dec. 31, customers will be
encouraged to donate $1, $3, $5 or more to Arc Greater Twin Cities as they make
their purchases. Donations generated through the Donate a Dollar promotion, as
well as the net proceeds of all sales at Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores go
to support programs and services at Arc Greater Twin Cities. Since the first
Value Village Thrift Store opened in 1982, Arc’s thrift businesses have
generated more than $12 million in support of Arc’s services for people with
disabilities in the Twin Cities area.
"We must raise resources to grow Arc services that meet critical needs of
individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their
families,” said Rod England, chair of Arc’s Annual Campaign. “I understand
these needs because, like many, I have experienced them in my own family.
During this time of year, please give an extra dollar or more when you are
shopping at Arc’s Value Village. Every dollar matters!"
