Great Tax Rewards

Donations must be in good condition in order to claim a tax deduction. By law, it is the donor's responsibility to define the condition and value. A professional appraisal is required on deductions exceeding $500 per item for your tax records.

Great Locations and Donations

Thank you for supporting Arc Greater Twin Cities. As of March 5, 2011, Arc no longer provides residential donation pickup at households. Donations are accepted daily at Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores and Donation Centers listed below. Arc appreciates past contributions made via our pickup service, and asks donors to continue supporting Arc’s mission by dropping off donations at Value Village. Please contact Dolo Eggert at 952-915-3627 to request service for business donation pickup and to schedule a donation drive.

Donating clothing and household items is quick and convenient. Drive up and drop off 7 days a week during store hours at our four locations. A Value Village team member will remove the donations from your car and provide a tax receipt.

For a complete list of donations we accept see our A   t o   Z   D o n a t i o n   G u i d e .

And don't forget about donating your car through the Autos for Arc donation program!

Each time you donate, record your donations on the worksheet. Once you donate, attach your worksheet to your receipt and put in your tax file. You’ll be all set at tax time! For help determining the value of your donated goods, visit the IRS website.

Shopping for and donating second-hand clothing and household goods helps reduce waste in our community. Furthermore, your donation benefits people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Proceeds generated from Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores and Donation Centers support the services of Arc Greater Twin Cities which assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout the lifespan [about Arc]. Arc appreciates your donations!

Children's Recalled Products
Safety of our customers is very important to Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores & Donation Centers. With recent news about toy recalls, Arc’s Value Village has posted safety notices in its stores, along with recall information from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. We also ask that parents who are going through their children's toys either send the recalled toys back to the manufacturer or dispose of at a county hazardous waste site. Please do not donate these items for the safety of all involved.
